In his sixth season at the helm, Greg Paynter guided the 2013 Tigers to the biggest single-season turnaround in program history, from one win in 2012 to eight in 2013.

In 2013, he coached a Tiger defense that allowed the fewest Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) goals since 2003. Towson won back-to-back road games in the same weekend for the first time since 1999. Emily Banesbecame the program's leading career goal (30) and points (77) scorer and set single-season records for goals (15) and points (36) under Paynter's tutelage.

Matt Gibson

Matt Gibson

Title: Assistant Camp Director

Matt Gibson is in his second year as an assistant coach for the Towson women's soccer team. He works with the Tigers' goalkeeping corps.

Gibson came to Towson with a vast amount of experience training and developing goalkeepers. He recently completed a four-year stint at Johns Hopkins University as the men's and women's goalkeeper coach. During that same period he held the position as the girls' head state goalkeeper coach with the Maryland Olympic Development Program. In this role he was responsible for coordinating training sessions and developing the top youth goalkeepers in the Maryland ODP system.

Mike Eckberg

Mike Eckberg

Title: Assistant Camp Director

Mike Eckberg is in his first season with Towson women's soccer in 2014.

Eckberg comes to Towson after one year as a volunteer assistant at Penn State.

While at Penn State, the Nittany Lions’ squad posted a 15-7-1 record in 2013, reaching the Big Ten tournament semifinals and the second round of the NCAA tournament. Eckberg assisted in the player development of one National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA) All-American and five NSCAA All-Great Lakes Region selections.

Autumn Hayes

Autumn Hayes

Title: Assistant Camp Director

Following an outstanding playing career at Southwest Minnesota State University, Autumn Hayes was named as an assistant coach in May 2015 and will begin her first year with the Tiger program in the fall.

"We're very excited to have Autumn on board for this season," said head coach Greg Paynter, who begins his ninth season at the helm of the program. "She comes heavily recommended as someone who works extra hard, is intelligent, young and eager. She was a three-year captain in college and brings a high level of leadership, character development and innate skills to help our student-athletes grow."

During the 2014 season, Hayes competed on the women's side for the Des Moines Menace of the Women's Premier Soccer League, helping the team to a 7-3-0 mark and 21 points in the standings.
